Asus recently added a budget flagship phone in the ROG Phone 9 series, dubbed the ROG Phone 9 FE. This is the Asus’s first fan edition phone, featuring a different processor compared to the other ROG Phone 9 models. While the ROG Phone 9 and 9 Pro are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, the ROG Phone 9 FE boasts the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is the last-gen flagship processor, which was part of the ROG Phone 8 series.

 

Another notable difference between the original models and the fan edition is in the battery specs. While the ROG Phone 9 and 9 Pro packs a 5800 mAh battery, the budget model has a 5500 mAh battery. Most of the other specs in the fan edition are quite similar to those of the original two models, including 6.78-inch FHD+ display, 185Hz refresh rate, 16GB LPDDR5X RAM, 256GB UFS 4.0 storage, and camera specs that mirror those of the vanilla model.

 

Along with many specifications, the Fan Edition also features a design reminiscent of the ROG Phone 9 and Pro. This includes a rear camera module with three cameras and an LED flash, all adorned with the ROG branding.

 

As of now, the ROG Phone 9 FE is only available in Thailand, and there’s no word on when it’ll be released in other countries. Nevertheless, you can still experience its stunning wallpapers without even owning the phone. Simply download the wallpapers and use them on any device you like.
